Hi

Can anyone tell me how i go about finding a chemist to safety assess soap?

What is the process?

Many thanks

Can't help you with that, but I know of several labs that do awesome challenge tests on other B&B.

If it is bar soap made from sodium hydroxide, and as long as you have carefully added each ingredient from a reliable soap calculator, taken a 5% lye discount, and made sure all measurements were on an accurate digital scale, your soap should be just fine. You can do the simple, but fairly accurate "tongue test." Take a bar of soap from the batch after about a week and simply place your tongue tip to the bar. If there is a tingle, like touching your tongue to a 9 volt battery, your soap is lye heavy and needs attention. If there is no "zap" then it is likely just fine and continue to let cure for a period of at least 4 to 6 weeks.
