First off let me say that I know nothing about melt and pour soaps so I'm hoping you all can help me out. My mom has some clear m & p base, she calls it glycerin soap, I have no idea what it has in it. She has been melting it, adding color, scent and pouring. It works as far as cleaning goes but has very little to no bubbles.
Is there something she needs to be adding or doing to get better bubbles? I don't think she really want to have to buy a bunch more stuff since she only has a few blocks left to use.

I have found that clear m&p soap doesn't suds up as much as the ones with added milk or butters. That being said, soap does not have to bubble to be effective. We are conditioned to believe bubbles equal clean, but really they just come from added surfactants like sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) or sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) or even worse one of the ammoniums. These things are nasty for your skin and health! So, long story short, the soap works...just differently. If you really want bubbles, try one of the m&p bases with butter or milk. I love BBs goats milk and Shea butter bases...very sudsy and moisturizing! :)

Oh, and make sure you're following the usage rate for colorants and fragrance. Adding too much can play havoc with the formula of the base.

Make sure you are melting it slowly and don't over heat it. I know one time when I let the soap get too hot in the microwave it had NO bubbles. I cut off a piece from the block that I had never melted and it had tons of bubbles, so overheating will affect that for sure.

Did she buy it from the craft store? I bought some once and it had no bubbles. It's best to buy from a soap supplier.

I think she bought it online from a candle/soap supplier but I'm not positive. I'll tell her about the heat so she is careful next time.

With cp soap, you can add extra sugar for bubbles, could you do that with mp? I know the bubbles aren't important when it comes to cleaning but she likes them.

I've read in some of the forums that some people like to let their MP soap sit out for a few days to "cure" and this helps it have more bubbles.

I've recently been testing a few bases and it really does seem to make a difference.

You can add eco friendly surfactants, (Coco Amidopropyl Betaine) to your melt & pour to make more suds.
