If I freeze GM, and pour the lye on the mashed frozen GM does it not lower the temp. of the reaction too much and by this weaken the strength of the lye?

No it won't weaken the strength of the lye.

If you're using goat milk slushie, adding just a bit of lye will melt the iced milk quite quickly. You can sit your jug of milk in iced water to keep it cooler and stop the milk from scalding.

I prefer to use goat's milk frozen into ice cubes. I add the sodium hydroxide (lye) bit by bit and the result is always a nice, pale colour. The temperature never gets too high and the soap is always fantastic.

Thanks allot, since I have only made 2 batches, and both where castille with slushy frozen goats milk I was not sure if the cure was right the way it happened.
I mixed with a stick blender for about 45 minutes, and then got a slightly puddingy texture.
But after 4 weeks we used it fine, it was nice and hard.
By the way, does the hardness of the soap change the slimyness?

I also freeze my goatsmilk into icecube trays and add to my oils at a stage where I can hug my hands on the pot of oils and it is warm (after melting)...............When I was a young soaper I was so exact with temps ect (which was a good thing) but once I discovered the goatsmilk and warm pot I fell in love with the ease of it all and now I only make goatsmilk based soaps........so easy no watching and waiting for the right temps anymore and I have never had a bad batch yet :)
