My friend works as a heavy equipment operator and is currently (for the past two years) excavating around Lake Okeechobee in Florida to help re-route water back to the Evergades.

Last year he gave me a few fossilized shells that they found. I just joined a fossil forum...actually i think its called that. Looks like my shells are 2.5 million years old!! From what one of the guys said, its from the Lower Pleistocene era.

The only thing is that he said that he has never seen these from that area...but i know where they came from and exactly how they were found.

This is so neat. Even if they arent worth anything, i am loving learning about them. I had four, but i just sent my sister one with my shipment of soap for her to try.
