Has anyone used formula 710 ethanol (aka CDA-12a) for making transparent soap? It looks like ethanol with a small amount of n-heptane as a denaturing agent. I found some locally. It is cheaper and higher proof than the Everclear I can buy locally.

I see Failor’s book recommends SDA 3a and SDA 3c. SDA 3a has methanol in it which isn’t good for skin contact. I don’t know if n-heptane is any better. I also don’t know how much remains in the finished soap.

Thanks!
