I have a question. I bought a soap from somewhere online, reputable company and all. Love their lavender soap.

Now, they have a citronella one right? I love the smell of citronella. Well since we were going to a cookout yesterday, I told hubs to try it out.

And he called me from the shower and went: "it smells fishy!" and sure enough, when you wet it and got it all sudsy, it smelled like fish. Really kinda gross.

Any idea what they put in it that did that? Smells great dry!

Their ingredient list includes:
catnip, citronella, heml, lavender, lemon eucalyptus, lemongrass, marigold, patchouilli, sweet basil, and thyme EOs.

The only other thing they have is the generic oil list they may use:

olive oil and/or rice bran oil, palm kernel oil and soy oil

That was about it. I mean, it was so yucky that I'm throwing it out.

It has their ingredients but they do have one soap with spirulina and that's not the one.

could it be rice bran oil? I had a soap i made with crisco and thought it smelled funky when wet, not sure what it was, but went away after longer cure.

It was a sample pack thing. I'll email them to see cause that was just nasty!!! gross!
