I've gotten started on my thrifty handmade Christmas gifts. Of course I am giving soap, but I am also giving baked goods, and I will try to make a dent in my hoards of fabric by sewing things for people. So far I've got one thing (out of eight) finished. Yay, me!

This gift is for my boyfriend's sister, who is a fan of our local Oklahoma whale: http://www.bluewhaleroute66.com/

I used the pattern found here:

It was an easy, simple sew. I highly recommend this project as a quick one-day or two-night project.

OMG! So cute! She is going to love it! I'm in the middle of making matching dog scarves for all the doggies in the family.

Dog scarves! oh my gosh, that sounds very adorable. Are you yarning them? Sewing them? How many dogs are in your family? Please post pics of dogs in scarves.

I'm sewing them. I have two and my brother and SIL had two as well. Wish I could post all of them together, but two of them do not get along. I'll try to get pics.
