This was not supposed to have an orange swirl....it was supposed to be red..... :?

It is my first facial bar and it has goat's milk, EVOO, CO, Castor, Sweet Almond, Castor, White Clay, Silk, & Rose Petals. The dark spots on top are where I sprinkled mica - didn't do that right...sheesh...

I had it out on the deck for a couple of hours to prevent gel - it's still a little warm and I'm hoping to unmold later this evening to see what I did end up with.....

Beautiful soap Lindy! the recipe sounds gorgeous and your swirls are to die for....as always.

If you want to achieve a fine sprinkle of mica you can put it in a small container and stretch a piece of nylon pantihose over the top and secure with a rubber band, improvising a fine shaker. Otherwise just brush lightly over the surface after unmoulding for a fine sheen.

Keep them coming, I love your pictures!

Tanya :)

Thank you... This is my second swirl and it's only supposed to be the top so we'll see what happened underneath when I cut it. The inside is supposed to be pink, but then the swirl was supposed to be red & white...... sooooooo.......

I so love this stuff and I'm really looking forward to seeing what this soap is like.... :? 8)

Chrissy - it wasn't bad then it was about 3 C - it's a good thing I brought it in when I did though cause it's snowing now.......

Nice! Love the swirl!

My project today was the same as yours...first facial bar, then out on the back porch to prevent gel. Had to bring it in to prevent it from freezing, though. It is already -2 (-18c). Yours looks much nicer than mine. I only have the color from the bento clay.

Can't wait to see it unmolded and cut!

Lindy, that is lovely! VERY pretty swirls.

What a good idea about the porch. I just finished soap today that I didn't want to gel but didn't have room in the fridge for. It was sitting up raised on the dining room table, but I have now put it out on the porch. Thanks for that!

Lindy your soap looks great!!! The swirls look perfect...I wish to have mine look like that!! I cant leave my soaps out side unless I want them to melt for a rebatch 80 deg and sunny here.

Oh Lindy!!!

That swirl looks beautiful. I can hardly wait to see it cut. I love the colours.

I have only tried to swirl once and it didn't work very well but..... if at first you don't succeed try, try again!

We're in the middle of a hot australian summer here. Not as hot as some years, but pretty warm outside today. I'm the same, if I put my soap outside today it would melt!!
The combination that you have used to make this soap as a facial soap is so inspiring Lindy, sweet almond, clay, love it love it love it!!

Lovely swirls! The color is so deep and pretty. I can't wait to see it cut!

Thank you - here are the cut pictures - I'm a little disappointed with the final colours in this soap but I did another one today....

Okay cut pictures:

Today's swirl attempt and this one I finally grabbed my courage with both hands & tried a complete swirl not just on top.....we'll see when I unmold and cut tomorrow:

I used different colour additives today and I do like the colouring better already.....I did a 4 colour - cream; yellow, pink & mocha mica...

Your cut ones still look lovely - they have an 'organic' look to them which is great for a facial bar, and the colours came out very pretty. Oh, I wish I lived closer to you so I could try all your lovely soapies! The new swirl is awesome - what a lovely colour combo.

Tanya :)

Wow - I thought the first swirl was pretty, but that second one is even lovelier! And your cut first swirl looks good to me - kind of marbled. Nice.

Your soap looks so great!!!

How do you get those "pointy" swirls? I love how that looks!

Oh Lindy, the second one is fantastic! I can't wait to see pics of that one cut, please make sure you post them up.
Those colours are so beautiful together, it's great!
