Hi, I'm looking to purchase bulk oils from a reputable supplier and wondered where would be a good place to start in terms of amounts of oil. I've read that I should order enough for at least 2 months of production, but how do you figure out production?

Your production is how much soap you are going to make. So if you are making recipes with 48oz of oils and you plan on making one batch a day then you need to take each weight of each oil and multiply that by 7 (for one week) then again by 8 (for 2 months) that will tell you how much of each oil you should need. Or you could just multiply the oil weight by 60(2 months) since you are making one per day.

I also use Soaper's Choice.

It depends on what oils you are getting, your storage options, etc. I get the 5 gallon bucket of coconut oil, and it has stayed good for years. I store my oils in a cool, dark basement. Coco butter and beeswax also stay good for a long time.

I don't buy olive oil from soaper's choice, because the prices from Costco are pretty close for the amounts I am getting. Castor is pretty pricey from other places, so I make sure to get some from them.
