Sold at my first Bazaar last Saturday. Made my $25 table fee and made a little profit also.

AND won the $200 Raffle Gift Basket!!

Wonderful experience. I know I need to elevate my soaps some on the table. Anyone want to give me some friendly advice or recommendations?

congrats on your first market! how exciting!!!

I'm no expert, but I'd say maybe use a different colour table cloth or have something with some colour. the visual is kind of bland. I like the different textures with the baskets and the mini bale of hay (that's what it is, right?), but something with more substance that makes it visually appealing (e.g. wooden crate turned upside down, burlap sacks instead of table cloth). again, I'm no expert, but these are some ideas that come to mind as a market goer things in booths that catch my eye.

best of luck in future markets!

My suggestions - height definitely (higher at the back and lower toward the front ), more stock- it looks to bare and tablecloth to the floor.

I agree with the other suggestions, but would add that you might want to change the photo on your banner to an image of your soap. If I saw your banner at market from a distance I would assume you were re-selling commercial soap for a MLM. I probably wouldn't get close enough to see they were handmade.

Definitely add height. Do you have a Home Goods near you? I've gotten some great display pieces there. I got a metal 3-4 foot tall corner 3 shelf rack there that looks great on my table , and folds up for portability. Other ideas are silver tiered h'orsdouvres (spelling?) trays. I also use stacked antique suitcases for height. The other thing I have is an antique suitcase that my husband built shelves in and then lined in burlap. It sits on its side, open on the table. Just good for thought!

Thank you for everyone's input!!!! Definitely height. I will look for a more colorful tablecloth. I brought 10 bars each of my scented soap, but only put three out on display. I will load them up next event!

As for the banner, it drove me crazy to have had to "safety pin" my banner to the tablecloth!!! grrrrr But had no where else to display it. Not sure how to remedy this problem.

Usually a banner like that is displayed behind your booth. I would get a printed tablecloth if you keep doing shows without a tent. Congratulations on making your booth cost and a bit extra. I have to agree with Chennywren about the picture on your banner, but I also realize you cannot just change the picture and it costs quite a bit to make a banner. This is why I do not use a banner at the moment, because I cannot decide what I want on it, and I simply do not use my first banner

Note taken and will do the height thing and tablecloth to floor. Thank you!. :)
