Here was my first attempt at a feather swirl! 🪶 60% lard bar with TD, French green clay, and spirulina, scented with rosemary and mint EO.

I learned a lot on this pour, mainly that my batter was way too thick to execute the layers I wanted when I compared to YouTube videos. Still, I think it looks pretty and my non-soaping friends (who have no idea what a feather swirl is!) said they thought it was beautiful and looked like a flower.

🥰 A good reminder that we are often our own worst critics since we know how things were "supposed" to turn out, but our recipients just think they are lovely!

Also attaching my unintended acceleration rescue, I think the geranium did it. But I did not panic this time, got it in the mold, and it ended up ok! ZNSC with turmeric, TD, white kaolin, and colloidal oats.

Very pretty. Definitely love the green. thinner layers would have made a better feather effect if that is what you were going for, but I really love the look. I might try this with alternating colors and a thicker batter like yours. I love the secret feather swirl. Good job.

This comment made my day!! 😉 If I'm the first to do it, I get to name it, right?

I'm going to call it the 'plop swirl.' Those two words exactly sum up the technique lol. 😆

Nope - the plop swirl has been used for a myriad of other designs. Ya can't have that one! Perhaps the hidden plop swirl would be ok?
