I've been in an experimenting test batch mood lately. Last night I made some melt and pour with a goat's milk base, clove bud, sweet orange, tangerine and lemon essential oils. I added them twice to make sure it took then I added some orange peel and red, yellow and peach liquid coloring. I popped them out this morning. They seem to be a nice pale orange with flecks of peel and some definite orange type scent..if they go over well I might make more...

The spearmint is next to be experimented with...

I hope it works.

Just remember though that when adding eo's & fo's, even if the scent dissappears the actual oil is still in the soap and if you add too much it could be irritating to the skin.

That's true. But it appears so far the clove is taking over leaving a hint of the citrus behind. I do have some lemon FO and of course remembered it just when the batches were setting lol..I also know they're still rather young only being 14 hours old or so. After I get rid of the clay test bar will move onto seeing if these will be an irritant or not...

The bars are still very clove-ish with a hint of citrus. I am thinking if I do another clove batch I might add an actual clove or two to reinforce the EO and a bit of scrubby texture for giggles.

I made the spearmint/peppermint soap using a plain white melt and pour base from BB,spearmint leaves, peppermint leaves, spearmint EO,peppermint EO and blue and yellow liquid and gel coloring I got a nice light green with the leaves speckled throughout. I put it in a silicone ice cream mold I got for cheap at Joanns and let it set. So far it seems very spearminty and very little peppermint surprising since peppermint usually takes over everything and makes my eyes water... Since these are test batches I will use a bar to see how they are.

Next is the pineapple FO once I find the bottle...

Spearmint is a strong EO and will overpower even a nice peppermint EO. But it's all about preferences and for me peppermint is my fave.

Pineapple as is -- marvelous! I'll admit this is what got me started on that FO: http://www.lushusa.com/Pineapple-Grunt/00076,en_US,pd.html

I got my pineapple FO from Sweetcakes. So far it has gone over well and I used a honey soap base adding extra honey FO and more pineapple FO til they seem to have come to a nice melding. I tend to stick to Sweetcakes,BB,and Wholesale Suppliers for my FO I will probably try Nature's Garden one day.
