Its that time of year, I have an over abundance of figs on my tree and I cant eat them all. And crazy me thought this morning while picking them "hmmm I wonder if I can put figs in soap"

Has anyone tried it? I've not done any purees or anything like that in my soaps yet

I have never used figs, but I have used other fruits and vegetables.

What I would do is put them in the blender or juicer, put that on through a strain, and then in an ice cube mold, and substitute part of your water weight with it.

Follow the procedure as if you use wine or beer, or milk, because the sugars in the fruit can probably react with the lye.

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Nothing. I was being silly ... they are figs after all ;)

I agree with you - the sugar will need to be taken into account, and it will be interesting to see what effect the pips have (they are unlikely to be crushed, but also have very smooth surfaces).

Give it a go ... it might be great (and I'm with SunRiseArts... I can't wait to see what you come up with!).

I wish I were there to eat them so you'd not have to put them in soap.
