felted soap

Just out of pure curiousity, I think felted soap looks cool, but why do people are buying it, is it to display or collecting, etc....just wondering.

Well I would get it to use... the wool is like a washcloth on the outside of the soap...

However if it's really pretty I might keep it as a decoration!

The ones I am lusting at are $18 a bar. I don't know if I could come to using an $18 bar of soap!

Well... if they are $18 a bar, then they probably have some significant amount of work in them (beyond the initial felting) such as embroidery or needle-felted patterns.

Keep in mind that when the soap is done, you will have a little felt pouch that you can then finish in various ways to use for little treasures, or to hold small personal effects, such as extra hearing aid batteries or a small pillkeeper.
