You are so talented! You drove me down the rabbit hole looking up felting...something I have never done before. But I cannot imagine I could do anything so stunning as your soaps. Beautiful.

You can do it! If you can draw an outline and fill it in with color you can do this!

What do you do when the soap is gone? Can you keep the cute little felt pocket?

I read somewhere that the empty felts make great little cat toys. Very handy if you happen to have a cat

The empty felt pocket may be filled with lavender and kept in a wardrobe.

Made these today, and like so many things, it's not quite as easy as it looks. Rubbed and rubbed 'til it seemed I would use up half the soap trying to get it woven and tight. Will the wool shrink more as it dries?
The 2 colorful ones are regular wool roving. The small white one was experiment using some fluff we combed out of our yellow Labrador Retriever. Definitely didn't work as well as the real wool (lol).

I would suggest trying a flat wet felt first to get ahead of things and then wrap it around the soap.

Those videos are fascinating. Thanks for posting them. I've seen felt clothing and other items before but had no idea about the process that created them.

I am terrible at judging sizes and weights when buying online. If i purchase 1lb of roving, how many soaps will i be able to felt just using that one color? Average 5oz bar…

Just trying to gauge how much i should buy for experimenting/first couple of gos at it with some ugly soaps i have.

I got some roving too. I assume you should wait until the soap has fully cured so it doesn't shrink too much under the felt?

For sure! Only use cured soap

What do you do when the soap is gone? Can you keep the cute little felt pocket?

You can keep the felt to use as a washcloth, or cut it open and put another bar of soap inside, or compost it!
