I recently purchased some extracts that were marked OK to use for CP. Has anyone had experience with this? If so, when did you add the extracts - at trace or to your water? More importantly, what was the reaction?

Was is a local vendor that sold you the extracts or a reputable soap supply company? Where you get some ingredients makes all the difference between I nice start to soaping or a total hot mess of a disaster.

I purchased the extracts from Brambleberry.

I was just debating about whether I wanted to buy some botanical extracts but figured the lye monster might get em.

I figured if I wanted to see what they could be like I could use the actual botanical counterpart.. Like actual papayas and tomatoes for example. There's a lady on YouTube I follow who's out in Nigeria I think who uses a lot of purees... Fruits, leaves, etc. and they seem to be working for her.

I agree with cmzaha, extracts are better utilized in leave on products and a waste in soap. Plus the cost for something that won't really add anything to soap.
