I'm new to soap making and have been doing my soap in a log but decided to pick up some individual molds so I can cut back on the amount of oils I use while I'm experimenting. Well last night was the first time I poured into the molds and I made a little bit of a mess. Pretty steady hands but I over filled a little and when I tried to level it out I had a bit that ran over.

Anyway, I now have these thin soap "flakes" and I was wondering if you all had any ideas as to how to use them. Could I mix them into another batch or do you have any other ideas for them.

I tried searching the site but I think maybe I was using the wrong terms or something because I didn't find anything. Thank you

Clearly you are a soaper after my own no-waste heart! :) Yes, you can save all kinds of soap flakes, scraps, and shavings, whether it is from beveling the soaps, scraping overflow off the molds, or shredding up soaps that you didn't like. Keep them in an airtight container until you are ready to either toss them into other soaps, or to rebatch a whole bunch of them into some new bars.

I recommend using the search function to search "oven rebatch" and "confetti soap." That will give you some great ideas to work on.

Hello and welcome.
The soap trimings can be rolled in a ball & used at your sink in a few days. or you can collect them and combine them in your next soap little bits of soap is called "confetti" you'll find all kinds of DIY.

@AliOop great advise' you beat me to the punch. 🤣🧼🤗🙌🏼

If you have enough soap scraps, then you can rebatch them by adding a little liquid and heating them until they melt together.
