Excess Lye

Is it safe to assume that if you have a superfat level of 1% or more in liquid soap that is cooked fully that there will not be excess lye?

Assuming your scale is accurate, should be fine! With liquid soap, it's easy to add additional fats if you do find it is zappy.

You should zap test the paste to be sure, but it should be OK. And yes, I zap test every batch of soap I produce, no matter what kind.
