Im doing an experiment with lotion and cream making. Instead of alot of water and a little butter and oil im reversing in to less water and alot of oils and butters. Anyone else try this

Why wouldn't you just make a body butter (whipped shea or other butter blend) with no water. I guess I don't see the point in the other way around. Just curious.

I do make regular whipped body butter. Im just curious to know what would I make if I did this

what you are trying still falls into the realm of cream / lotion making . you control the ratio and base ..." Most lotions and creams are water-based, but water-in-oil emulsions are also on the market [source: Cosmetics and Toiletries]."

I have found water in oil emulsions very difficult to master. I have yet to find an emulsion system like ewax that will keep my cold creams from seperating. It is best to work off the HLB values. Good luck.

There are some good tutorials on Swift's blog, pointofinterest.blogspot.com regarding water in oil emulsions.

Follow Susan blog and there will be no separation. I had it only once when I used powdered green tea leaves. I still wonder if I should try it again

It didnt separate. Its ok actually just a bit greasy feeling. Looks pretty though

I have no clue what that means but I like it. Its not too oily and its great on my dry ankles
