I know for CP soaps it is around 3% PPO but what about when not using as a skin wash but for a laundry stick? Is there already a pretty clear answer as to how much can be added to make the say orange EO beneficial and actually work to remove stains? One recipe had 2 lbs of oils and 1.5 ounces EO. Sound reasonable? A lot more than 3%!
Any help is appreciated. I have my recipe finally but hours of computer time researching have given me EO's to use but not the amounts for CP soap. :)

I don't know the amount for the stain stick but I doubled the amount of EOs for laundry soap. However, I've decided to switch back to not adding a scent since the scent is gone by the time the clothes are dry (even when I hang them on the line). I just think it's kind of wasteful to use EOs just for the little time I can smell it when I'm doing the wash.

I don't think 1.5 oz is unreasonable for a product you'll be using on clothes. It comes up to a little less than 5% ppo and it will be washed out. But this is just my opinion since I haven't made a stain stick.

Thanks Hazel.. I wouldn't use it either if it wasn't for the help the EO's give with cleaning and pulling out stains.
My homemade laundry detergent I never scent, love it natural. :)

I don't feel like I helped but you're welcome! If you're not going to be doing it right away, you might want to see if anyone else can give a definite answer. Please let me know how it turns out when you do make it.

Well I made a batch last night and so far so good.. smells good but not too too strong. I am going to test a stick out on my kids clothes to see how it works. Figure it should cure a week for clothing but guessing it would still get a stain out at this point even if it's not dried out as much as it should be. Very firm though.
I did 1.4 oz for total weight of 20 oz.
