Emulsifying wax v/s Bees wax

I have left over emulsifying wax from making lotion and have run out of beeswax which I use to make a salve. Can emulsifying wax be used to make the salve? Thanks to anyone who may have the answer. The salve is made with Shea butter, sweet almond oil and wax.

I don't think emulsifying wax would have the same effect in a salve as beeswax - they are quite different chemicals.
