A follow up on my November entry. I had so much fun planning this, I was sick and it entertained me when I was flat on my back. The easiest way to show what I did is to share the spreadsheet of infused oils and lye that I used. “MB oils” is all the oils minus olive oil, which was 40% of total oils. Each color was 100g of oils.

i opted not to go with any of the chlorophyll colorants for green, instead mixed woad and annatto. The color is olive green, but the yellow and blue stripes make a nice green.
Here’s a quick vid of each color pre-pour. The purple is blue at this stage.

Here are the colors in the pot.

I’m going to try this again with twelve colors to include a reddish purple. Love this.

🤭 Oh, I see. Should have read more closely, and check the entry thread before.
My mind was probably still too overzealous in compliance with the “no challenge soap photos outside the submission thread” rule.

Oh, nuts. I understood that to mean before the entry thread opens but - @Admin - if I have breached protocol I’ll delete the soap photos from this thread.

Thank you all! I recently bought Jo Hauslauer’s new ebook on using plant colorants - I love her approach, she shares her missteps and her successes - the book is not prescriptive, if that’s the right word, but just shows what she did and the results she attained. Lots of great photos. It was something else to look at when I was sick. Better now!

“Plant Magic” - I’m sure the other one is good too, I don’t have it.
Really this is a stunning soap and the perfect timing of trace! All of it together just shows what is possible with plants as colorants for soap. I cant thank you enough for sharing your skill with this post. Its made my day, week, year! Just stunning.

Zany finally the new one is out hahahah only took years! 222 pages and really exactly as Vicki has said, just shows how I did the soaps in the photos and hopefully inspires more people to try plants for color!
