Are you dropping anything from your 2008 line?

Are you adding anything new for 2009?

Just curious...

Hi Tabitha,

I'm going to be adding Silk to all my bars except my Puppy Shampoo. I'm going to expand my Puppy Shampoo line to 2 "flavours" to start with (Spicy & Lavender Mint) and then see what my customers have to say and what they want.

There are a bunch of soaps that I want to play with so we'll see what else comes up this year.

Cheers
Lindy

Question for anyone: So, if you're adding a new soap to your line, and you're in business so you're a master soaper, do you add it after you have tested it for a long time, or are you so comfortable with your skill set that a new reciepe doesn't need to be tested and you sell right away from the very first batch?

I do test it by using it myself and having others use it as well. Since I tend to use the same base for my soaps usually the only thing I'm changing is my additives such as silk, cream, botanicals etc. which allows me to sell from the first batch. I don't consider myself a master soaper, I do however, consider myself competent.

Cheers

i've decided to limit my fragrance line to 6-8 tried and true successfull f/o's, and maybe 2 add'l ones for each season. plus a 4-6 selection of men's soap coming up on the holidays for gift boxing.

Lyndy, that's what I do. I use the same base, and just change my additivies or my scent, ect. Also, by doing this is something happens you can contribute it to the thing that's different, such as the scent or the coffee, and not your base recipe. It's easier to troubleshoot this way.

Well I'm not in business, but right now I'm doing R&D on clay, mud and charcoal soaps. Also I'm going to be practicing and perfecting my swirls and layers. After that (probably around summer) I want to move onto R&D on salt and sugar bars.
