ok, now i know what people mean when they say the soap "drags", but it still lathers good, why does it do that?

I think too much castor oil can create drag in a soap. I'm not sure though.

I don't know honor I haven't experienced it yet . I use silk though in every batch , maybe that is it .

I talked to the water softner guy and he said it's because the soap is rinsing clean leaving no residue behind like the detergent soaps do. However,I've also been told it's due to having hard water. I know my MIL has a water softner and my soaps don't drag, but when I use them and I have very hard water they do drag even with the added silk.

I know this sounds stupid, but I am not familiar with soap "drag", what is it?

"Drag" is hard to explain, but I'll try.
Imagine bathing and everything is fine.
You get out to dry off and it's almost like you're sticky.
The towel doesn't glide to dry you -- it sorta "drags and sticks"
When you get dressed, you can still feel the "stick" and the feeling
goes away in an hour or so.

I too suspect castor in the recipe, but I'm also suspecting a castor
and stearic acid combination -- not absolutely sure what causes it.

Thanks CastorFan, that was an excellent description. Hmm, I've haven't had that happen and I hope I don't. I've never used that low of a percentage of CO, maybe that keeps mine from "dragging".

I was curious as to what the drag was also. I've never had it happen to me thank goodness.
