I am fresh out of EO's and FO's (order coming this week, wahoo!!) and I'm getting the itch to make soap. I haven't made any in about a week.... this is too long!

I do have a lot of awesome smelling tea, though! Peppermint (which smells VERY minty), chamomile, cranberry pomegranate, orange, chai....

If I brew the tea and use it in place of the water in my recipe, and sprinkle in some fresh tea at trace (for some speckles!), would the soap end up smelling like the tea? Even just a little bit?

I made some soap with ginger tea, using all of an entire big root thingy (I weighed it, but can't remember how much), and although the tea was potent, the soap smells very little now that a few weeks have gone by. It smelled mildly gingery right out of the mold, but now, it just smells vaguely pleasant.

So, with ginger tea, no joy. but let's see what others have found!

Okay, I tried this tonight, and not only did my soap turn BLUE (?!?! the tea was RED!! Sigh...) but the scent totally disappeared immediately.

:\

Yeah but, is your soap going to stay blue?? Because that's COOL. If it stays blue, you tell me, girl, 'cause I wants me some blue soap!

me too me too me too!!!!!

*sigh*

Why do all the really cool colors get eaten by the lye monster? :(
