Hi all ,

I have seen some gorgeous tumbled jade looking soap stones on etsy , I would like to make some to put in a dish on the bathroom counter.Does anyone know how one would go about making these ? They look very shiny and so pretty.

TIA

There was a tutorial around somewhere for those Kitn, I'll see if I can find it.
But basically, it's just Cp soap, grated back down, and then squeezed back together into the shape of the stone, then rubbed on the stainless steel of the sink while the water is running.
Search through the gallery, somebody made some a while ago, meanwhile I'll try to find the tute.

I made the stones but not in the jade colours (mine look like granite) - basically what I did was grate my CP back down - threw it in the oven for an hour at 180 F and then as the soap cooled I formed the stones. As soon as I had them shaped then I ran them under running water and continued to shape. I do like that idea of the stainless steel and have to try it.

Thanks so much ladies
A stainless steel sink, who'd a thunk it. I don't have a stainless steel sink , I have a fireclay one ,hmm.I think I will try it anyway maybe in a stainless steel bowl..
Thanks again I never would have dreamed that is how it was done .lol
