Do essential oils stick in lotions?

Just wondering, 1% EO, 2 parts shea, 1 part CO, 1 part jojoba oil, 2 tsp arrowroot powder

Same here. Just have to be very careful to use skin-safe amounts. Do not use BB’s calculator for this as it is not accurate in many cases. I recommend EOCalc.com.

I normally use 1% EO/FO in my lotions and most common EOs are safe at that rate, especially if you are blending multiples together. But use the eocalc website to check.

Like Bookworm, I use a lot less scent in lotions, salves, balms, etc. than I do in bar soap -- I'd say 0.5% to 1% based on total batch weight, assuming the fragrance is skin safe at that dosage.

I like 1% in lotions, too. The most common mistakes I see are people using some of the "hot" EOs like clove, cinnamon, anise, etc., which are not safe even at 1% in a lotion.
