Distilled water

Making my first batch of soap today using all water as liquid. Should the water be cold or is room temp o.k? Does it matter?

Since the lye will heat up the water, you can use room temp or cold water. It doesn't matter.

I would only make sure my liquid was cold or frozen if it was something other than water, like tea, coffee, beer, or milk. Water is pretty easy to work with at room temperature.
