What are the differences between the soap w/ lye and soap made with E.O.? How do these soaps affect people with eczema and other skin sensitives?

difference?

ALL soap is made with lye, some soaps have EO added for fragrance or the properties of the EO ( antibacterial, healing properties and such).
Read thru some of the old questions and post, or do a search on them for the answers to questions you have. There is a lot of great info here and a lot of great people to help you.

The difference between lye and EOs is like the difference between letters and numbers. The only thing they have in common is that both are often used in the same application - but NOT for the same reason.

Lye turns oils into soap. all soap is made with lye.

EOs are scenting agents that can be added to your soap if you would like. Some EOs are problematic for some people.

Ok I understand now for the most part; that the lye eats the oils (correct me if I'm wrong) and EOs leave a scent. But I thought that that is what the conventional veg/fruit oils do as well depending which ones you choose to put in your recipe (e.g. Moringa Oil useful for moisturing, contains antiseptic & antiinflammatory properties), am I correct? I'm all confused! Do the conventional oils add fragrance to the soap nor are those scents evaporated by the saponification process?
