Since it's almost Halloween and Dr. Sleep (The Shining sequel) is being released this fall, I wanted to make RedRum soap. Solid red in color with a little spiced rum (with alcohol boiled out).
I'd like to do something decorative with the top, but I'm drawing a blank. Thick trace blood splatters?Carving Redrum onto each bar?
Any horror buffs have any cool ideas?

You can do a lattice type design on the top depicting the hallway carpet. Carve in the 2 haunted room numbers 217 and 401, try to incorporate the hedge, the axe and chopped up bathroom door. With soap dough the possibilities are almost endless...

I like the idea of the carved Redrum, and also the thick blood spatter.

I'm in CO and stay at the Stanley hotel quite often and do the tour almost every year. It's a fascinating place. And in a beautiful location.

Love both your and jcandleattic's ideas!! But maybe instead of carving Redrum you could use individual letter rubber stamps dipped in a dark gold mica to show up well against your red soap? Or get number stamps for the room numbers? I use this technique all the time and customers love it (even though it washes off after the first use)!
Also, I took a peek at Amazon and found this one that kind of spoke to me:

I know Jack didn't actually wear a top hat, but it reminds me of the final scene with the photo where everyone is in formal wear. It's also a little big, but it should fit on a regular size bar of soap.
Or this axe stamp!
