My daughter loves picking dandelions and giving them to me! I can see another trip out to collect soap making supplies, and for my daughter to have fun!!

How long do you dry them out in the oven for and what sort of temperature do you use? Can't wait to try this.

Gems and Lucky - is it just the dandelion heads you infuse and roughly how long for?

New to this game but I popped them in the dehydrator. Or 3 or 4 days on a sunny window sill on kitchen paper should dry them. I would think 70F with the fan on and the oven door cracked open.
Muslin over top of jar to let water content evaporate on a sunny window sill or in crock pot and 'stew' for a while to drive out moisture. (well that's what tinterweb suggests). I think you could do fresh ones in oil then in a crock pot for a few hours.

I've gone for sunflower as I thought olive was too dark/green.

Only used flower heads so far to get as yellow as possible.

I dried them in the oven for about an hour on the lowest setting which on my cooker is 60 - wait until you smell them gorgeous.

Actually back home , of course years ago we made Dandelion wine but before it was finished my hubby and his friend finished the few galons. I had never the opportunity to try;)

Ok so dandelions cooked gently in oo for two hours check leaves dried and powdered for later use check soap recipe by nerdyfarmwife check run through soap call check - hot process weird cook - looked exactly like custard pic attached - but it never looked like it was going through gell while cooking sort of cooked literally like an egg custard - moulded last night smells divine put tiny bit fo and cocoa butter unfounded this am as always too excited to see how turned out oh forgot to say added honey after cook but the soap turned out very light and creamy fantastic lather but it's a bit soft and crumbly can't decide whether to re batch or have not quite perfect "rustic" looking bars. Any ideas?

Oh and somebody said that they were going to have petals running through soap but won't they go brown???

Sorry here's pic of cook just after trace

Do you have issues with "stuff" in your sink when you use soap with non soap ingredients? They are so pretty but I wonder about the remains.. LOL

Just stuff left over in the sink you need to clean out. I live in the country and don't want any more in my septic system than necessary, and also don't want to have to clean the debrie out after I use the soap. Just wondering if anyone takes issue with that. Some of those soaps are so beautiful and I wanted to try my hand but one person mentioned they didn't care for the "left overs"...

Sorry Lovinglife it's just soap or bits of dandelion and leaves don't let it bother you. If it's any consolation I hate the flipping coffee grounds after making coffee it drives me insane.
