Yes, indigo powder is green.
It sounds like you added it to lye water? If so, that's what happened to your color i think. For CP, try adding it after trace when you split your batch.
It's still not blue hehe so SaltedFig must be right, the brownish green powder is for hair and blue powder is for dyeing. See her post somewhere here. And I just read I added it to plain water to test...
Lol yes, I was kidding of course. Was just reminded of an incident where my aunt ended up with shocking copper hair due to henna lol I just can't remember where she said she made a mistake. We've never tried a mixed henna-indigo for hair though, and I did say I wanted to try this one..I haven't heard about any skin benefits of indigo, and it doesn't stick to hair -- it bonds to henna. If yours does have henna mixed in it, it still won't be on you long enough to transfer any color to your hair. Happy soaping!
