Haven't posted for some time but was ghosting the site:)

So, here I was all happy because I got loads of soap to give out as pressies and then I found that some of them have expelled all EO & FO's in the past 2 weeks. Could have cried...

I made these about 5-6 weeks ago and stored them in an open plastic bowl and was turning them every week. Could humidity have caused this? It's around 69% today but I know it was much higher in the past weeks.

I've made and cured CP soap when the humidity has been at least 69% and have not had the trouble you describe, except for sweating on my salt bars. Can you give your recipe please, including the amounts of FO/EO used? This problem could be caused by a lot of issues and there's no way to know without more information.

^What she said.

Also, quite often the scent hides in the bar until you use it a time or three, then suddenly you remember that you LOVE that scent. If you absolutely must have them all smelling nice for presents, you are going to need to either plane off a bit on one side, or just wash them a time or two. I doubt the humidity has anything to do with it, but I have high humidity also.

If you used a citrus EO, though, I have bad news for you. Those fade very fast in bar soap unless you use some sort of fixative such as corn starch or clay.

Also in central FL where it's very humid 95% of the year. Humidity does not really affect the scent of the soap like DeeAnna mentioned. It could be your recipe, your additives, the FO or EO you're using.
