I have been selling locally for years and have a website, after hearing so many things about Etsy, I'm going to give it a go. The only problem is it seems the prices are so low on Etsy. If I were going to list all my items, they would be on the highest range on etsy.

A few examples: I sell my soap for 5.5 oz bars locally for 7.95, and throughout my searches the highest I've seen on Etsy is like $7 or at most $7.50. And my lotions I sell for $10 per 4oz and that seems really high compared to the lotions listings on Etsy.

I have a great product with many rave reviews and I was thinking my prices are very good compared to a handmade soap shop here locally and all the big retailers like Lush and Basin. But compared to Etsy, I'm not sure if I can make it on there.

Any advice on just listing my items at the prices I charge locally. I'm not opposed to lowering my prices a little bit just for Etsy but I wouldn't want to link it to my Facebook and twitter account, so I guess 2 separate facebook/ twitter accounts? And would I use the same name and labels and stuff??

Lots of questions I know, thank you for reading this, any thoughts would be extremely helpful.

Thank you for reading this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't lower my prices for just one spot. It could get confusing for you & if you local customers came across it on Etsy they may get upset that you're charging them more.

Keep your prices where they are! People on etsy constantly under-price their products (speaking from experience here). Because let's be honest, the people charging $3 for a 5-6oz bar are either resellers or not making any money. The top B&B sellers on etsy are usually those with prices higher than the norm. People are willing to pay more for something they feel confident is high quality.

Same here, my prices are the same at both sites. I sell at alot of craft shows and made my prices around the middle of the pack compaired to other soapers I see. But I don't know why I do that because my product line is so different than most others.
