I am trying to create a soap for shaving and I am failing every time. Unfortunately I don't have great quantity of ingredients available to me in Poland but I'm sure I can import something.
I can't find palm oil, which I would like, so most of my soaps are using olive, coconut and castor oil.
I want the smallest creamiest bubbles possible and the lather MUST last. I keep on getting soaps that lather nicely but they fall flat on my face and the bubbles bursting are really ticklish.
Any ideas? I have loads of great bath soaps, just nothing that can fit the purpose I want it to. I have seen some shaving soaps with sorbitan oleate and sorbitol. what are these products used for?

Hey Nicky,

Try this one:

25 oz Coconut Oil
18 oz Olive Oil
5 oz Castor Oil
3 tbsp White Clay
7.13 oz Lye
16.4 oz water

I've use this with great success, it makes a nice lather and once the bar is cured there is a lot of lather plus it's moisturizing.

Cheers

I have tried a recipe like this and it produces nice creamy lather., but I think it might be the coconut oil which causes the problem with the bubbles bursting too fast. I will give it another go maybe. I haven't tried with clay for a while.
