Hi,

We use home made laundry detergent by combining fels-naptha soap with washing soda and a few other ingredients. I was wondering if I could use home made soap instead of the fels naptha. Since I will be grating the bars into the soap and not using them for my body AND since I want it to be as cleansing as possible could I just do a 100% olive or coconut oil bar with a 0% (or maybe like -5%) superfat? What would you suggest for a laundry soap bar? We do not use any scents and are looking to get the most bang for the buck.

Thanks,

Alex

We use 100% coconut oil, no superfat soap in our laundry detergent. I used to use castile soap, but a light gunky-like film began to develop on the laundry.

Lard!(unless you have issues with animal products) I do 0 % super fat, shred up the bar add borax and baking soda. It works great, and the price, Lard is around a 1$ a Lb if you buy 5 Lb
