So I have a thought and wondered about the logistics. If I encase a cp soap inside melt and pour does the CP need to be fully cured first?
Ohhhhh - I'd love to see them. Sounds beautiful!I've recently seen a soaper on Instagram who has these amazing CP/MP/Dough soaps, where clear MP is used to make a window effect to a scene created by soap dough.
Like a snow globe?I had somewhat of the same idea, but I want to make a "bubble" out of the M&P that is around the CP soap.
ohhhh - - a snow globe soap!!! That would be out of this world! I'll be daydreaming about that all day....Like a snow globe?
My scheming hadn't begun until @CatahoulaBubble mentioned putting it in a bubble. Unmolding a large ball feels like it would be a challenge, but maybe if I could make a mold with sideseams from the small glass bell domes like what Michael's has? I'm still thinking.ohhhh - - a snow globe soap!!! That would be out of this world! I'll be daydreaming about that all day....
Yes I was wanting to do a snow globe soap.ohhhh - - a snow globe soap!!! That would be out of this world! I'll be daydreaming about that all day....
I'm going to drop them into the browsing soap pics thread as soon as I get the screen shots transferred from my phone to my desktop. It's always a crap shoot at work with getting good mobile data, and having the USB ports blocked. I sometimes have good luck if I can get enough data to email them to my work and upload to the forum that way. Sigh. Why's it gotta be so complicated?!Ohhhhh - I'd love to see them. Sounds beautiful!
Any luck on replies from Aus? It costs $24 AUD for a package under 500g (around a pound) and $37AUD for over 500g (and under 1 kg) to the states. Not cheap.I've recently seen a soaper on Instagram who has these amazing CP/MP/Dough soaps, where clear MP is used to make a window effect to a scene created by soap dough. I'm not sure if she allows the soap dough creations to cure before encasing in MP. It seems to me that you would want it to. I think it would be possible for the soap dough to continue evaporation (remember MP is not plastic or resin, and it should still "breathe" like soap - well maybe not if your MP is heavily detergent based...) And I could see the MP and dough becoming separated as the dough continues to evaporate off. The Instagram maker is in Australia and doesn't ship internationally, so I'm not able to get my hands on any of the soaps to age them and see for myself. The maker is @tamarajaneartisansoap I highly recommend you check her out. They're stunning soaps, I think she said she has 14 different designs using this technique. (ahem, and if any Ozzies would be willing to buy one and help me figure out shipping to my door... j/k... kindof...)
would something like this work? The balls are only 2.5", so they might not be big enough for what you want.
Thanks for looking up the info for me, it's about where I was expecting it to be for price... so I'm sticking with my "just kidding" Maybe someday I can get there in person and stalk - ahem I mean - arrange to meet the soaper. Or maybe I'll just play around and do it myself!Any luck on replies from Aus? It costs $24 AUD for a package under 500g (around a pound) and $37AUD for over 500g (and under 1 kg) to the states.
