Computer question

Hi everybody! I KNOW this is a soapmaking forum, and my question has nothing to do with soap... so I hope you bear with me.

First, how do you get those cute little pictures that appear under your name, like a signature picture? I picked a picture out of my personal collection, but didn't know how to make the file size small enough. I could take down the resolution, but I hardly had any pixels left and my file size still exeeded the limit :?: :?: :?:

When I went to my profile, there was stuff about Avatar pictures... Is that something special? I picked a picture out of their Avatar gallery, but I don't even know if I can make it work. Plus, I would rather use one of my own pictures.

Second, how do you post a picture :?: :?: I've tried several times, but was not successful.

I could re-name my post Fun With Forum

i tried to put a pic also, it said it was too much mg or something.

To post a picture go to www.photobucket.com and sign up for an account. You can upload your pictures there and after they're uploaded they will have a few links underneath them that you can copy and paste to your post here. You want to use the [ img ] link for most forums.
