Been making CP soap for a while now, never touched M&P before. Couple questions:

I basically want to take some clear M&P, melt and add a little blue mica, then pour into individual cavity molds so I can cut it up and use it as embeds in a CP soap.

Anyone see any problems with this? I'll probably be refrigerating this after the CP pour to avoid glycerin rivers (I'm using TiO2 in the CP loaf).

CP Recipe isn't anything weird, Olive, Palm, Coconut, Castor, Shea butter.

Will the M&P remain clear afterward, just with a blue tint? I'm going for a "blue crystals" look.

It sounds like it should work. You should try a batch of m&p beforehand just to make sure you get the clarity you want before you plan your actual loaf. As long as you control your temp your m&p should be just fine in cp

I do it all the time. No problems at all. Like lenarenee said, you can also do a drop swirl with M&P, layer it - like a layer of CP, then a layer of M&P, and another layer of CP, the possibilities are endless...

Does the heat from saponification cause the M&P embeds to melt? M&P has a low melting point and CP soap easily reaches that.

The only time I've had a problem with this is if my M&P embeds that are on top of my soap are very thin and the soap gels very hot. (Has only happened twice) I use M&P embeds on almost every soap I make, and I like my soaps to gel, so I make sure and wrap them.

This is my "Kentucky Bourbon on Ice" cp soap. Not a problem mixing m&p with cp. Fun to do!

I am working with Baby Buttermilk m&p soap just now from WSP. I get a lot of glycerin dew with this one. Wouldn't the embeds get wet afterwards especially in summer? Is there a certain kind of m&p that would be better? Probably one with less glycerin?

"Low Sweat" M&P would be better for hot/humid areas.
