So I added blue to my last batch and now that it has cooled it is almost pink..... Did I do something wrong?

My recipe was
80% olive oil
10% coconut oil
10% crisco
I used default water and superfat discount % on the calculator....

I have heard exactly the same report about blue colorant being affected by the alkalinity of the lye and turning pink as a result. What colorant did you use?

If you're the kind of person who makes lemonade when you're given lemons, then it's not a mistake. If you had your heart set on blue then perhaps so... It all depends on your frame of mind. :)

But you learned something, right? :D

Yeah - you have to test each component of soaping ingredients including colorants and fragrances. Just because they are safe for soap doesn't mean you will get the results that you want.

The color may have changed due to the recipe, the fragrance or the colorant itself.

Sorry - I know its a bummer when a soap color goes wrong.
