Color change from rebatching?

I've rebatched a couple of times using the boil in a bag method. Seems to work well, but the soap turned a dark honey brown color. Both rebatches had GM powder, and pureed aloe vera in the original soap. I added a few drops of FO to the grated soap before boiling. These were very small rebatches, less than a lb. Is the color change a common result of rebatching, or because of the GM powder?

Could you share your original recipe? I expect it was the ingredients in your recipe......

Did you have honey in the recipe , I have had that go a carmel brown doing a rebatch ?
I don't think the GM powder would be a problem , I use it a lot.

Actually, the second rebatch settled down into an oatmeal color, although it was a caramel brown when I piped it into the mold.
