I have been using palm oil from Colombus foods in some of my soaps,, I bought a 50 lb pail but since it is 50lb I didn't stir it and I scoop out what I need... then I was reading a post from Carebear about the stearic acid in the palm sinking to the bottom when it is liquid and now I am scared that my soaps are not as gentle as I wanted them (they are not lye heavy),, and also that the rest of my palm is mostly stearic acid... Should the bottom palm be more solid if it is stearic acid "heavy"or? ....

So much to learn so little time....

I bought what you bought ..

I thought that was only if it had melted - would that be a problem - I have been doing the same as you..

I am in Iceland so there is no way that it could have melted here but I am not sure if it did during the shipping,, I scraped the bottom of the pail and it is the exact same consistency as the top so I am not as worried...

Thank you for the reply.
