How cold is it safe to store soaps? I have an uninsulated closet that bumps out into the cold storage in this 100 yr old house. Can cold temps damage the soap, or do I need to find some shelves?

I don't think it will harm soap. However, if it becomes frozen, it may get condensation as it thaws. Perhaps put a bar in the freezer, unfreeze and give it a try.

After they are cured, put them in a ziploc type bag and squeeze out as much air out as you can. That way they can freeze and when the soaps come back to room temp, the condensation will form on the outside of the bag instead of on the inside. Just a thought.
