Anyone make coffee soap? do you put real grounds in it and how much ppo? I will be adding fo, since i know just coffee frag doesnt last.

I make a kitchen coffee soap to get rid of cooking odors like fish and garlic on hands. I brew doublestrength coffee for my total liquid. I use a fragrance, Aromahaven's Irish Mocha, (chocolatey-coffee scent) and I do add fresh coffee grounds for scrubbies. I think I use a couple teaspoons per pound of oils (add at at least medium trace so they don't all sink to the bottom.)

It's quite popular, the coffee liquid and the fragrance turn it a deep rich coffee/chocolate color. It can have a slight brownish tinge to the lather, but no one complains because it works so well to get the odors off the hands. HTH!!

I love coffee soap. I brew a really strong brew, I mean really strong, it creates a really dark brown soap, and like SoapMedic says at med trace add your coffee grounds, I put 1 Heaped tablespoon per 1kg of oils. I use geranium and patchouli to scent mine, lovely! Great for cellulite too, as I have heard that caffine stimlates the cells and tones, don't ask where I heard that tho! Have a go you will love it! :D :D

On this note, where can I find a really good, real-smelling-just-coffee scent? I have a friend asking for a coffee scent with coffee grounds, and he's kind of a coffee snob :?

I make 2 coffee soaps - one is really scrubby and has a fair amount of fresh coffee grounds in it - the other has super extra thick coffee (think triple espresso) and only a few grounds in it. I think I am going to start adding a coffee fragrance to it as well - my question would be if you use a really, really strong coffee won't it absorb the FO scent as well?

I have asked and tried several and have yet to find a really good "just coffee" scent. Cuban Coffee Bean from SS is nice but still not what I'm hoping for. But at least it doesn't have that "candy coffee" smell that so many do.

But if you want a coffee smell for your coffee snob you WILL have to add FO. I brew triple strength coffee/espresso for mine and add a lot of grounds but without FO you have to put it right up to your nose to even get a hint of coffee scent.

It IS great for kitchen, garage, and craft room to get rid of odors and dirt. My brother loves it after he works on his motorcycle. He says it's better than anything he can buy.

I have heard of people adding instant coffee instead of brewed. I have never tried it though.
