Very creamy and fresh looking, great for your 2nd batch. Keep the photos coming.

No milk in there, I did plan to use coconut milk but thought as it's only my 2nd attempt I'd keep it simple with water as I know with the milk it has be a bit slushy ice. Think I may use it in the future though

That looks great! I made a 100% coconut soap for my second batch and it looks crumbly and awful. You did a great job.

Looks good, and ought to be a really hard soap with great fluffy lather, not so great stable lather.....?
do you have oily skin? it may be a tad drying to skin, good for very oily-skin types, or as a household cleanser... I enjoy making my own household cleaning products too.

Definitely. That would dry my skin out so hard. I don't think I'd ever use that high a proportion of coconut oil, but you did use cocoa butter: did that offset this?

It looks great though. Well done.

I was scurred too, Korgan, but I've made a couple batches of 100% CO with 20% superfat and surprisingly.. they are my favorite bars in the bath. I don't feel dry after, and I live in Los Angeles where the humidity is super low. You should give it a try! And I love how hard the bars are, too.

as advised I used a high superfatting % so it wouldn't be so hard, I've tried it out and it's not drying at all, very nice, will still leave it another week and half before I properly use it though

I have 2 recipes that I use almost exclusively...1 is coconut/shea with a 20% SF. I tried it with cocoa butter and did have VERY drying skin...my skin felt like it was going to crack open and had me lunging for the lotion.

I'm still so mystified how different skin types react to different recipes.

That being said, my coconut shea (peppermint eo scented especially) is ADDICTING. I just want to stand in the shower and play with the bubbles for DAYS...and it makes my skin so happy.
