Clay in CP soap

Hi,

When you use clay in your recipe, except for colour, which property does it add to it?

Some use clay to give soaps a slip feeling. Some use clay to anchor FOs. Some use it to make soaps harder.
I simply like the texture it gave soaps. It's hard to describe but soap with clay just have a different feel when you touch them that I like for my shower bars.

It depends.
I don't use pound as my measurement but grams and percentages. Usually around 1-2% of the entire batch weight (oil+lye+water). I did have batches up to 3% for a intense color and that worked out fine.

I have used rose clay and some of my testers say it helps with oily skin. I don't have any data to back their statements. It's just their opinion.
