Hope it isn't too late for this question since we already made the soap. I understand cinnamon eo can be an irritant. We used half and ounce in 14 oz. crisco, 12 oz. olive oil, 12 oz. coconut oil, 2oz. castor. Is this a reasonable amount, we also had half ounce of nutmeg in the batch. We also added 7oz coconut milk at trace.

That sounds like way too much to me. I would label the bars *not for sensitive skin*. I am gun shy, I burned several people w/ a christmas cookie fo that had just a touch of cinnamon in it.

For normal, non irritating oils, I usually use about .7 ounces PPO. So, if you only used 1/2 an ounce, that's a pretty small amount considering it would take 1.75 ounces essential oils to be at a rate of .7 ounces PPO. But.... Cinnamon essential oil is very irritating. If you are selling, maybe you can advertise it as a nice bathroom hand soap for the holidays. You don't want to loose any customers by burning them... customers don't like to be burned :D . By the way, how does it smell? Is the smell coming through nicely at the 1/2 ounce PPO? Can you use a little less? Anyway, like Tabitha said, you may want to label it "not for sensitive skin" to cover yourself. HTH

Thanks for the replies. My husband and I just make soap for our family's enjoyment. Our son has eczemia so we don't want to irritate his skin. We think it smells really good . . Christmas-like. The soap is still curing but right now it seems to be enough cinnamon EO - our room smells like cinnamon. We also made a soap scented with cinnamon and nutmeg, we need to cut back on the cinnamon it seems to overpower the nutmeg. Again thanks. We are beginners and have questions.
