I had hoped to get a cutting video for this one, but luck for lighting and quiet wasn't on my side today. Here's the soap porn for your enjoyment, and if you are interested in the details, they can be found on my blog. Link in my signature. Enjoy. Enjoy real chocolate though, this one tastes like soap.

From top to bottom:

1. The loaf - weighs about 2.5 pounds and has chocolate shavings on the top.

2. The cut tops. Love how dark they came out. The loaf design was like frosting a cake at home.

3. Finished soaps - five slices.

4. Another pic of the finished slices.

5. Up close texture of the chocolate soap. Next time I might allow specks of cocoa powder, seems like it would be fun.

Thank you Christine!

It's loaded with real chocolate in it, and cocoa butter too, but chocolate fragerence is in it too, so there's no knowing. Sorry Dianne.

Thank you ladies. I'm glad you like them. Good enough to eat is a good compliment. Thanks for making my day!

Thanks Cindi!

I just checked on these and sure enough oxidation has made them dark. They really look like big brownies now!

What great looking "Chocolate soap"..lol. I've been making soap for a long time but never had the idea of making chocolate soap..Funny part of it is there are a lot of people in my family who are chocoholics and I think they would go nuts for a few bars of this...you really did a nice job on those Mel and may I ask (I guess I could check your blog)...what would you suggest I use to get a really chocolate fragrance?..can I just use cocoa powder?...

I'm glad you all like them and that they are bringing your chocoholic out. I took a cue from 2lilboots who makes a lot of foodie soaps. I made something yummy so I can "have my cake but not eat it too!" Who doesn't love that?

Jerry, for fragerence I used Chocolate Fudge from Candle Science and anchored it with kaolin clay. I also substituted 1/2 chocolate coconut milk for water and added 1T cocoa for a darker color. It smells yummy, though next time I think I'll ramp it up. I think I'm one of those people who just want a really strong smelling bar of soap. :)
