So I’m on my 3rd batch of soap. Today I only had a certain amount of palm oil so I played around and created my own recipe. Everything was going good until it took a long time to come to trace and I ended up adding sodium lactate right into the batter. 🤔 Then it came to trace but i was not able to do much design to the top because it was very creamy. I’m wondering if my recipe didn’t have enough hard oils? I’m pretty sure I should wait 3 days before I unfold.

It will be a somewhat drying soap (high coconut oil), but it will be soap -- just wait. You do have a high percentage of liquid oils so it will require a bit more time to harden up.

Actually it might be the fact I used too much oatmeal?
