Hi soapers!
I am short on supplies and thought I would use what I have available just for fun. The following is the recipe for the batch I made yesterday. The resulting soap was ready for cutting within 12 hrs and there was no detectable zap that I could feel by taste. This is a hard soap that produced pretty good lathering. I showered this morning with left overs from cutting. My only regret was that I didn't have any castor oil, so I had to use more lard than I would like. I didn't want to use too much of my EO on soap, so I opted for the conservative approach. The soap still smells nice but it's not overpowering. I almost forgot to mention this is a pretty big batch that makes about 24 bars. If you try the recipe, you may want to resize it. I will probably start gifting these out in 3 wks.
Lard- 36 oz
Coconut- 30 oz
Rice bran oil- 13 oz
Shea butter- 5 oz
Beeswax- 30 gr
Water- 27.5 oz
Lye 134 gr
EO/FO- 3 oz
